Tarifs, Prices, Cancellations
Travelling in Bhutan is based on a daily tarif, which includes everything for this purpose (Transport, Guide & Driver, Entries, Accomodation, all Meals, etc.).
The bhutanese government issues minimum tarifs as it is participating (with appr.1/3rd of the total) on this income. Money transfered for a tour first goes to the Department of Tourism (DOT), which deducts their percentage and the rest will be handed out to the tour operator to cover the expenses. Basically a tour operator can charge whatever he wants, provided he keeps the minimum.
We will charge the minimum with premiums only for requests for luxury accomodation (like the Uma in Paro with $ 500.-/n.)
Daily Tarifs (minimum):
Single traveller US$ 270.-/day
Party of 2 US$ 250.-/day/person Party of 3 US$ 220.-/day/person Party of 4 and more US$ 200.-/day/person
Additional onetime charges/person:
Visa fee US$ 20.-
Tourism fee US$ 10.-
As mentioned before, the daily tarif covers everything from accomodation (double room occupancy, requested single room for additional US$ 20.-/night), all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner, but not alcoholic beverages), transportation in a private car/minivan with private guide and a driver, entry fees etc.
For trekking (minimum party of 4) the tarif provides the animals, tends, mobile kitchen and accompanying personel.
Not included in the daily tarif:
Flight expenses, personal insurance (recommended), any personal expenses at hotels (phone calls, laundry, beverages) or restaurants/shops etc., tips.
We reserve, buy and provide Druk Air tickets at cost but are not responsible for seat selection, change of departure or arrival and any occuring cost from those events.
Purchased and paid tickets will be mailed to the purchaser as e-tickets via e-mail attachments. Druk Air does no longer issue paper tickets.
Cancellation policy:
Cancellation 30 days before the tentative entry is fully refundable.
29 - 21 days before 90% refundable. 20 - 14 days before 85% refundable. 13 - 7 days before 70% refundable. 6 days and less no refund.
It is important to know, that all proceedings such as visas, hotel reservations, ticket purchases, arrangements for transportation etc. can and will only be done after the full ammount for any scheduled tour or activity has been transfered to the DOT and reached the tour operator.
We will make you an encompassing offer, provide visa forms and send you instructions how to transfer the money by bank transfer. This transfered money will be absolutely safe, as you transfer to the government for forwarding to the tour operator. Due to the necessary arrangements a firm registration has to be made 2 month in advance, for popular festivals (Paro and Thimpu Tshechu, Punakha Dromchoe) we advise 4 month in advance. |
