Festivals are certainly one of the main attractions of a visit to Bhutan. Because they are spread over the course of a year, in most cases it is possible to attend one event. At the most popular festivals
(Tshechus at Paro, Thimphu or Punakha)
however, one has to cope with an influx of people, full flights and hotels.
Early bookings by your tour operator (recommended: 4 month in advance) are therefore mandatory. The flow of the performance is almost similar everywhere, therefore also lesser known events offer oportunities to experience the culture and atmosphere.
